Summer vacation is approaching and most university staff will have holidays from July 10-September 3. We wish you a pleasant and enjoyable summer. If you plan for traveling during the vacation, please keep us informed of when and where. It'd be helpful to let us know if there'll be any Chinese friend(s) who's('re) going with you or hosting you at the destination. Please provide us with their name and contact number just in case.
The Summer Vacation Time: July 10th-September 4th
students in study:the registration time is September 4th; Class beginning time: September 5th
fresh student: (Overseas students) registration time is September 14th
(Hong Kong、Macao and Taiwan students)registration time is September 16th
Class beginning time: 19 September, 2011
Followings are some tips for your information.
1. Summer in Hangzhou is characterized by high temperature (up to 40 Celsius degree), humidity and typhoon.take care about yourself.
2. Make sure the electric power in your room has been switched off, door and window shut before your trip.
3. Regulation on electrical safety must be ensured. Use of fire is prohibited in Wenyuan(文苑the in-campus flat).
4. Take care of your property and important documents, especially in areas such as public bus, train, scenic spots, cinemas, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. BEWARE OF PICKPOCKET!
5. Choose safe transportation vehicles like train, public bus and taxi. Ask for receipt for invoice (发票) in case of lost and complaint. Follow traffic rules when you walk, drive electric bicycle or car.
6. Be careful if you make exchange of foreign currency outside the bank, so as to prevent your money from being substituted or even robbed.
7. Pay attention to food quality. It’s always better to choose big restaurant instead of snack stalls.
8. Religious activity is allowed at church, temple and mosque. Campus and home are not legal religious sites to preach in China.
9. Do not believe and take part in multi-level marketing (pyramid selling). It’s illegal in China.
10. In case of emergency, call 110 to seek help from police.
University staff will return to work on September 3rd. and the new semester's schedule will be hanged on the college'swebsite.You’re required to come to our office for semester registration (tuition, textbook, student’s id registration etc)in september 4th.
